Will this be enough to take South Carolina, and kill Clinton's momentum that she has?

5:40 PM EST With a little over a hour till the polls close it looks as if the South Carolina Primary this year will have the most people to vote in the primary ever! That is still with a hour and twenty minutes till polls close. Right now John Edwards and Hilary Clinton looks like they will be fighting for second place, as Barack looks as if he is the front runner to win South Carolina. This fact is based upon the info I have heard all day on CNN, FOX News, and many other news sites.

6:26 PM EST Still waiting for votes to come in. Who's Next?

After Fred Thompson(Sen. TN, and Law & Order) dropped out of the GOP running, I asked my self. Who is Next? First thought was Ron Paul, he hasn't won a state yet, but did get his best finish just this weekend in Nevada. Ron finished second to Mitt Romney by 37%. Ron also won a county in Nevada, Mitt won the rest.

After Ron Paul I thought, who else could be dropping out before Super Tuesday. I don't think anyone on the Democratic side will drop out. So it will most likely be a couple of more Republicans. Two people, after Ron Paul, came to mind. Rudy Giuliani and Mike Huckabee.
Mike did win Iowa, but after doing bad in New Hampshire(3rd) and Michigan(3rd). It seems as if he is running low on money. Mike told the Houston Chronicle "I don't want to pull out of Florida yet, We have not come to the conclusion that Florida is out of play."

Now onto Rudy. Rudy skipped the first states to focus on Florida, where until last week he was winning. Rudy was passed up last week by South Carolina winner John McCain. This MUST be the WORSE campaign management in years. You don't just skip 6 states. That is where you get momentum going into the rest of the nation. Why would anyone skip the first six states. That puts you behind in funding, and resources going into the big states this month, and Feb 5th.

So I end this with a question the readers of the blog,

If you were running for the nomination of one of the two parties would you have skipped six states to focus on the big states, and Super Tuesday?

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://electionnews2008beyond.blogspot.com/2008/01/fred-thompson-dropped-out-whos-next.html' title='Fred Thompson Dropped Out!
